Top25Scouts Writers Program

We are expanding our national coverage team! If you love youth basketball, enjoy writing, and want to build your platform, this is your opportunity to join one of the fastest-growing youth media networks in the country.

What Writers Do

  • Write 1–2 articles per week (required)
  • Cover local, state, or national games & events
  • Submit player evaluations, features, interviews, & breaking news
  • Assist with rankings by providing scouting notes
  • Follow Top25Scouts writing guidelines (we will edit)

Writer Levels & Promotion System

All new writers start at Tier 1. After 60 days of consistent work, writers may be promoted based on:

  • Quality of articles
  • Consistency & reliability
  • Article views and engagement
  • Ability to cover events effectively

🟡 Tier 1 — Contributor Writer

Entry level. Best for new or developing writers.

  • Write 1–2 articles per week
  • Player spotlights & basic scouting recaps
  • Event recaps and local coverage
  • Follow writing structure with light editing from staff
Benefits:
  • Articles published on Top25Scouts.com
  • Full byline credit
  • Articles may be shared on Instagram/TikTok
  • Access to the scouting network

🔥 Tier 2 — State Writer

Assigned to a specific state or region.

  • Write 1–2 articles per week
  • Covers events, interviews, and deeper player evaluations
  • Helps update state rankings
Benefits:
  • All Tier 1 benefits
  • Listed on the website as an official State Writer
  • Priority for event media credentials
  • Higher visibility & featured placement
  • Eligible for performance bonuses

🔴 Tier 3 — National Writer / Lead Scout

Advanced level. Covers national events and top prospects.

  • Write 1–2 articles per week
  • National-level features, scouting, and rankings work
  • Assists with the Top 25 National Rankings
  • Helps lead coverage teams at major events

  • Homepage feature placement
  • Direct input on national rankings
  • Leadership opportunities
  • Eligible for paid opportunities covering national events as a Top25Scouts representative
