Duane Eason Jr. is a physical, downhill point guard who plays with a veteran’s understanding of pace and contact. Despite his current size, Eason Jr. consistently initiates contact at will, embraces physicality, and finishes through defenders with either hand around the rim. He lives at the free-throw line—and makes you pay—converting at a high rate while piling up and-1 opportunities.

Eason Jr. is automatic from the stripe, confident late in games, and unafraid of responsibility when possessions matter most. Add in a reliable three-point shot, and defenders are forced to pick their poison. If your team needs a foul drawn, a bucket created, or momentum shifted, Eason Jr. finds a way to make it happen.
What separates him is his floor general mentality. He’s vocal, poised, and plays with a genuine passion to win. He commands the offense, communicates on both ends, and brings an edge that lifts teammates. His basketball IQ consistently shows up in real time—reading help defenders, controlling tempo, and making the right play under pressure.
Physically, Eason Jr. is far from finished. He’s still growing and has not reached his full potential height, making his upside even more intriguing as he continues to develop.
Basketball Roots
Basketball runs deep in the Eason household.
- Duane Eason Sr., his father, was a nationally ranked baseball player, with basketball as his second sport. He has spent 25 years coaching basketball, most recently serving as Head Coach at Phoenix College for eight seasons. Prior to that, he led Mountain Pointe High School (2017–2018) to the first state championship game in school history, and also coached extensively in New Jersey before relocating to Arizona.
- Santee Eason, Duane Jr.’s mother, was a collegiate basketball player, a girls varsity basketball coach in New Jersey, and has held several leadership roles in athletics and education. She served as Athletic Director at Central High School (2018–2022), Principal at Bella Vista Prep for two years, and is currently in her second year as Athletic Director at Cesar Chavez High School.
- Athleticism extends throughout the family, as Eason Jr.’s sister is also a current high school volleyball player—further proof that sports excellence is a way of life in the Eason household.
Player Mentality
When asked what he brings to a team, Eason Jr.’s response was mature, honest, and telling:

“I feel I bring a high IQ whenever I step on the court. I study and understand the game of basketball. I bring a strong work ethic, good decision-making, aggressiveness, leadership, and the ability to score from anywhere. I always hold myself accountable. My parents always say it doesn’t matter how anyone else did—we know what you didn’t do, and I use that to reflect on how I could’ve performed better.”
That accountability carries beyond the hardwood. Duane Eason Jr. is a 4.0 student, a consistent Honor Roll member, and excels academically with the same discipline he shows on the court—a point of pride for the entire Eason family.
