Zaza Fuentes, a Class of 2031 guard for Brooklyn Zoom, turned in another impressive showing during Jr. 3SSB Nationals. In a physical matchup against We Got Next (FL), Fuentes remained composed with the ball in his hands, making smart decisions while helping guide Brooklyn Zoom to a 49-42 victory. The team finished the weekend with a strong 3-1 record.
Fuentes displayed a polished offensive game throughout the contest. His smooth shooting stroke stretched the defense beyond the arc, while his crafty handle and shiftiness allowed him to consistently break down defenders and create advantages off the dribble. Comfortable playing either guard spot, he balanced scoring opportunities with quality playmaking and showed the versatility to run an offense or play off the ball.
While complete statistics were unavailable, Fuentes knocked down multiple perimeter shots, consistently got into the paint, and created several scoring opportunities for teammates, finishing with multiple assists in one of Brooklyn Zoom’s biggest wins of the weekend.
As he continues to develop physically, Fuentes’ pace, feel for the game, positional versatility, and decision-making give him a strong foundation moving forward. Performances like this reinforce his ability to impact winning and make him a guard worth following in the Class of 2031.
