Preston Lockrow, a Class of 2031 point guard, from Upstate New York, is the definition of a sleeper prospect ready to make noise. Currently running with Only the Strong Survive and Aikonyc Elite (Jr. EYBL), Lockrow brings a polished, under-the-radar game that continues to turn heads the more you watch.

What stands out immediately is his quick-trigger release from deep—he doesn’t need much space to get his shot off, and defenses that sleep on him pay for it. Pair that with a tight, controlled handle, and Lockrow is able to create separation while staying composed under pressure. He’s not just flashy—he’s efficient.

Lockrow thrives through contact, showing a willingness to attack the lane and finish tough plays. Despite not being the biggest guard on the floor, he plays with grit, toughness, and a motor that doesn’t quit. Size has never dictated his impact—and it shows every possession.

His court vision and feel for the game are where things really start to separate him. He understands spacing, reads defenses well, and consistently makes the right play. Whether he’s calling for a screen or directing traffic, Lockrow is vocal and engaged—qualities you want in a floor general. And when defenses collapse? He’s dropping clean, timely dimes to teammates in scoring position.

One of his most underrated traits is his sneaky speed—he changes pace effortlessly and can catch defenders off guard, especially in transition or when attacking gaps.

Lockrow recently put together a strong showing at the Jr. EYBL Open Events in Pennsylvania, further proving that he belongs in the conversation with some of the top guards in his class.

Still developing and flying under the radar, Preston Lockrow is truly a diamond in the rough—but not for long. As his exposure grows, expect his stock to rise quickly.
