Event: Hoop Group Fall NXT Gen Circuit
Date: October 31 – November 1, 2026
Location: Multi Sports Kingdom (MSK), Manalapan, NJ
Team: Reez Active Hoops 2033
Cayden Smith made a strong impression during the Hoop Group Fall NXT Gen Circuit, with his perimeter shooting standing out as one of the most consistent parts of his offensive game. Evaluated during both the second session and championship weekend, Smith showed no hesitation letting it fly. He displayed impressive range, confidence as a shooter, and the ability to knock down shots from multiple areas on the floor.
Operating as a point guard, Smith brings more to the table than his shooting ability. He has an advanced handle package for his class, using quick changes of direction and an explosive first step to create separation from defenders. His ability to get defenders off balance allows him to create his own looks, whether attacking the basket or pulling up in the mid-range.
Smith also showed a good feel for creating opportunities for others. He was effective in driving and kicking to open teammates, creating downhill opportunities, and recognizing when to make the right pass rather than forcing his own shot. His combination of ball control, quickness, and scoring instincts makes him a difficult guard to contain when he gets into his offensive rhythm.
Closing
Smith’s shooting ability was the biggest takeaway from his performances. His confidence, range, and willingness to take advantage of open looks consistently stood out across the sessions evaluated. Paired with his handle and ability to create for teammates, Smith gives Reez Active Hoops a dynamic offensive guard to continue watching in the 2033 class
